Afraid of Change?Copyright © 2003 Lynne BullenNot everyone is able to accept change. There are those who will dig their heels in. One should not advocate change for the sake of change. The purpose for and reasons behind any change must always be very clear. Following a well thought out plan with room for contingencies is the safest way to go. I endeavour to involve my clients in any change that is being considered. This allowing them to pace themselves at their own rate whilst they're being introduced to the newer technologies and work practices. Managers are encouraged to involve staff members during the process and the decision making. If the decision is made without consultation of those the change will affect, it may result in a less than satisfactory transition, with loss of unity and loss of valuable time. Involvement from the outset gives my clients the opportunity to be part of the process of change, giving them a sense of ownership of the well-informed decisions they make. With this newfound confidence clients feel even better about their businesses, and will see positive results in a short time. ~ Resource Box ~ |
